Many of us have strong memories of a time in childhood when our lives stretched endlessly before us. We dreamed of possibilities … of being ballerinas or firefighters. Adults asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up, and we answered … dress designer or astronaut.

And then we grew up and became accountants and teachers, sales managers and health care administrators. Not that there's anything wrong with these life directions. Still, for many of us deep inside there is a dream life that is yearning to come forward.

Maybe it's a desire to write articles or publish a book. Perhaps it's a thought of becoming the next Nolan Ryan or Oprah Winfrey. Or maybe it's an unexpressed aspect of ourselves that could be best served by starting our own business. Others may live the life of Walter Mitty, day dreaming of what it would be like to raise the bar on what they are currently doing and become an outstanding star in their present field.
