Who sets the
agenda for the coaching call?
As a co-active coach,
I take the perspective that each client is creative, resourceful and
whole and so is in charge of the purpose of the coaching session. The
only exception to this is during the initial Discovery Session where the
coach collaborates with the client to set the stage for the coaching
relationship. During this call, the client responds to questions designed
to elicit values, worklife purpose, primary focus for future coaching and
more.
Does a coach work
on personal goals or business/professional goals?
Aligned Advantage
takes a holistic view of the client and recognizes that the client does
not consist of separate areas such as career, health, relationship,
family, and more. The client is whole and all of these are parts of the
whole. That is why coaching is so effective. All issues: personal, business
and professional are grist for the mill.
What is the
structure of the coaching?
First there is an
initial complimentary telephone consultation with a potential client.
Once we have established that we would like to work together, we arrange
a time for a weekly phone call. There is no charge for periodic email
communication between calls. A brief "check-in" call may also
be allowed from time to time with no additional charge.
Coaching is a process
that occurs over time and requires a commitment on the part of both the
coach and the client. I do not ask for a written agreement or contract
from individuals, but I do ask for a minimum three-month commitment with
monthly fees paid in advance at the beginning of each month. Should the
coaching arrangement become unworkable for any reason, either party may
withdraw at any time.
